Church Lane road closure for drainage works

Wokingham Borough Council as Traffic Authority proposes to make an order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Church Lane, Shinfield, between its junctions with the Brookers Hill and Hyde End Lane.

The reason for this restriction is to enable drainage works to be undertaken in safety.

The alternative route for all vehicles shall be via Basingstoke Road, B3349 Hyde End Road, Hollow Lane, A327 and Brookers Hill, or by this route in reverse.

Access to properties located within the boundary of the closure will be maintained where possible. The restrictions shall only apply when the appropriate signs and markings are lawfully displayed in the road.

The Order will come into operation on the 13th day of February 2017 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that all the works will be completed on the 30th March 2017.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this restriction may cause.

Regards
