Community First Panel for Shinfield North

A Community First Panel has been set up to decide on priorities and administer the funding.

You can view the terms of reference of the panel here.

The members of the panel are as follows:

Parry Batth
Borough Councillor for the Shinfield North and Chair of Panel
Parry Batth was elected as Wokingham Borough Councillor for Shinfield North in May 2011. As member for Shinfield North he is a keen supporter of law and order, high educational standards and meeting the needs of the local residents.

Parry has spent his entire life within the Electricity Supply Industry and plays a pivotal role in keeping the lights on as a manager for National Grid at the UK Electricity National Control Centre based in Sindlesham in the heart of Wokingham Borough.

In the last fifteen years, Parry has adjusted his life and work balance in order to help local communities in dealing with issues such as anti-social behaviour, litter and graffiti, housing, parking, social welfare and immigration. He particularly focuses his energies on helping underprivileged communities to bring about positive change.

Before this Kate worked for British Gas and then for herself following voluntary redundancy. Kate is a trustee of two organisations supporting the local community. She is married and lives in Warfield.

The CResCent has been nominated to be the Panel’s Partner – acting as a check and balance on the progress of the Panel’s work.

Daniel Rolfe
Local resident and student
Daniel is 22 and currently studying Business Management at the University of Surrey. His main interests outside of work and study are cycling and motor sport. His motivation for being on the panel stems from being a local resident for eight years and from his time working closely with the community in his role as a Youth Worker since 2007. He feels particularly passionate about advocating for and representing young people within the community.
Sunita Sharma
Local resident and Wokingham Borough Council officer
Sunita works for Wokingham Borough Council as a Commissioning Officer for Priority Communities. Sunita has significant local government experience, particularly in developing and interpreting policy and local authority governance. More recently she has been involved in analysing the needs of a community and tailoring services to meet those needs and supporting residents to shape their own communities. Sunita has lived in Shinfield for ten years and is interested in the area and its future development. She and her husband have a young daughter.
