Burghfield & Mortimer Volunteer Bureau
Full Details: Volunteers in the Burghfield & Mortimer Volunteer Bureau take residents of a number of parishes including Shinfield to and from their medical appointments (doctor, dentist etc.) if they are not able to do so themselves. We are currently re-publicising this service so that more people can be made aware of it. This could benefit those wishing to use the service for a relative or friend and those who could be encouraged to join us and become a volunteer to help their fellow residents in this way.

Helping Hands Shinfield & Spencers Wood

Details

Helping Hands is a community project led by Sarah O’Neill and Rachel Walker, designed to love our neighbours, by connecting those needing a 'helping hand' with those in the community who are able to provide for their needs.
Please get in touch if you live locally and are struggling to make ends meet – we would love to hear from you. As a community we may be able to help out with uniforms/clothing, baby basics, pre-loved toys, furniture, household items, food etc. Let's love each other in times of need.
Helping Hands is also part of the pop-up Foodbank at Shinfield Baptist Church, providing fresh food, toiletries and cupboard parcels. We are supported by Sallyann Hunt, Associate Pastor, and an amazing team of volunteer drivers.
We now run a weekly surplus food project - SHARE SHINFIELD - which is part of Share Wokingham. The cafe runs Mondays 1230-2pm and EVERYONE is welcome to drop in. Championing food waste and enabling the access to good quality fresh food.
All requests for support will be anonymous. No financial requests please.
