Please be advised that Wokingham Borough Council, as the Highway Authority, is issuing a notice under Section 14(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. No vehicles shall proceed along the roads listed below during the specified period.

  1. Black Boy Roundabout, Shinfield for its entirety.
  2. A327 Black Boy Northern Offramp, Shinfield for its entirety.
  3. A327 Black Boy Northern Onramp, Shinfield for its entirety.
  4. B3270 Black Boy Eastern Offramp, Shinfield for its entirety.
  5. B3270 Black Boy Eastern Onramp, Shinfield for its entirety.
  6. B3270 Black Boy Western Onramp, Shinfield for its entirety.
  7. B3270 Black Boy Western Offramp, Shinfield for its entirety.
  8. A327 Shinfield Eastern Relief Road, Shinfield proceeding 100m from its junction with the Black Boy Roundabout.

Alternative Route:

The alternative route for all traffic (eastbound and westbound) affected by the restriction shall be by proceeding via B3270 Whitley Wood Lane, B3270 between A33 and A327, Three Mile Cross Interchange, B301 Basingstoke Road, A327 Christchurch Road, A327 Shinfield Road, B3350 Elm Road, B3350 Wilderness Road, A329 Wokingham Road, A329 Reading Road, B3270 Lower Earley Way North, B3270 Lower Earley Way and B3270 Lower Earley Way West, or by this route in reverse.

The alternative route for all traffic (northbound and southbound) affected by the restriction shall be by proceeding via A327 Shinfield Road, B3350 Elm Road, B3350 Wilderness Road, A329 Wokingham Road, A329 Reading Road, B3030 King Street Lane, B3030 Mole Road, B3030 Sindlesham Road, B3030 Eversley Road, A327 Observer Way, A327 Reading Road, A327 Arborfield Road and A327 Shinfield Eastern Relief Road, or by this route in reverse.

Reason for Closure:

This prohibition is necessary to enable contractors from Wokingham Borough Council to safely carry out plane and inlay resurfacing remedial and associated works.

Access:

Access to properties or businesses within the boundary of the restriction will be maintained wherever possible.

Duration and Timings:

The restriction will commence on 12th November and continue for a period not exceeding 5 days. It will only be in effect while the required traffic signs are lawfully displayed. The works are expected to be completed by 15th November. The restriction will be enforced only between the hours of 7pm and 6am.

Compliance:

The restriction will apply only during periods when traffic signs complying with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 are lawfully displayed.
