Tin Roof Café is a welcoming community café at the School Green Centre, in the heart of Shinfield. Since October 2025, it has been run by Shinfield Parish Council, offering a varied menu with seasonal specials, including hot and cold food, barista-style drinks, and homemade cakes and sweet treats.
Look out for special offers throughout the year (including a Monday cake-and-hot-drink deal), and ask in the café about discounts for Blue Light card holders and seniors.
Well-behaved dogs on a lead are welcome – no sitting on the furniture though, please.
Update: March 2026
The operation of the café here at the School Green Centre was up for review by Full Council in March 2026 and we can advise that they have decided to extend the trial period to the end of September 2026 to allow the council the experience of operating the café directly across a full year.
A further decision will be taken in October 2026 as to whether the café continues in house.
