A number of our Girlguiding units are on the brink of closure due to lack of adult leader support. We have Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers and run a Young Leaders scheme in both Shinfield and Spencers Wood. The units are very popular and well supported by the young members but we need some more adult volunteers in order to continue.

A weekly commitment is not required and there are a variety of roles available.

Burghfield & Mortimer Volunteer Bureau
Full Details: Volunteers in the Burghfield & Mortimer Volunteer Bureau take residents of a number of parishes including Shinfield to and from their medical appointments (doctor, dentist etc.) if they are not able to do so themselves. We are currently re-publicising this service so that more people can be made aware of it. This could benefit those wishing to use the service for a relative or friend and those who could be encouraged to join us and become a volunteer to help their fellow residents in this way.
