Arborfield Cross Relief Road

Project Update – 7th November 2019
Arborfield Cross Relief Road

WHAT’S NEW:

Upcoming traffic management at A327 Reading Road

Two-way traffic lights will be in operation from Monday (11th November), to Friday (15th November) on A327 Reading Road, off-peak hours (9.30am – 3.30pm), from 50m – 200m west of the junction into Bridge Farm Industrial Estate. This is to allow us to complete the Virgin Media and BT diversion works.

Upcoming overnight traffic management at A327 Eversley Road

Multi-way lights will be in operation from Monday (11th November), to Thursday (14th November) on A327 Eversley Road from between 8pm until 5am, 200m north of Langley Common Roundabout to 300m south of Langley Common Roundabout. This is to allow us to carry out the clearing of roots for Wokingham Borough Council.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you in advance for your continued cooperation.

The new 2.3km relief road once complete will reduce congestion, boost employment and create opportunities for more sustainable travel, providing traffic relief in Arborfield and Arborfield Cross and the surrounding rural lanes.

The new road, which will link the A327 Reading Road to the A327 Eversley Road, will also support the development of Arborfield Strategic Development site, consisting of 3,500 new homes.

The overall construction programme is between Summer 2019 and Summer 2020. A phased construction programme has been prepared which provides details on each stage of work and key dates are available here: https://www.wokingham.gov.uk/roadworks-and-outdoor-maintenance/major-new-roads/arborfield-relief-road/
