Notice of planned road works from 20.02.23 onwards (Arborfield & Grazeley)

WOKINGHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS, WOKINGHAM BOROUGH)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY given that Wokingham Borough Council as Traffic Authority proposes to make an Order under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along:

1. Church Lane, Arborfield between its junctions with A327 Reading Road and B3030 Sindlesham Road.

The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via A327 Reading Road and B3030 Sindlesham Road or by this route in reverse.

Works requiring this restriction will take place between 20^th February 2023 and 22^nd February 2023.

• Bunces Shaw Road, Farley Hill between its junctions with Castle Hill and Church Lane Arborfield.

The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via Castle Hill and Church Lane Arborfield or by this route in reverse.

Works requiring this restriction will take place between 1^st March 2023 and 3^rd March 2023.

• Bloomfieldhatch Lane, Grazeley between its junctions with Lambwood Hill and Wokingham Borough Boundary.

The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via Lambwood Hill, Bloomfield Hatch Lane,Grazeley and Cross Lane or by this route in reverse.

Works requiring this restriction will take place between 15^th March 2023 and 17^th March 2023.

The reason for these prohibitions is to allow BT contractors to undertake excavation and replacement of telecommunication poles and other associated duties in safety.

Access for residents and businesses within the boundaries of these restrictions will be maintained at all times.

The restriction imposed by the Order shall only apply during those periods when traffic signs complying with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 are lawfully displayed.

The restrictions contained in the Order shall come into operation on the 20^th February 2023 and shall continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
