Please be aware that Wokingham Borough Council as Highway Authority hereby gives notice under Section 14 (2) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that no vehicle shall proceed along A33 Swallowfield Bypass, Swallowfield (Northbound) between its junctions with Wokingham Borough Boundary and Mereoak Lane.
The alternative route for all traffic affected by the restriction shall be by proceeding via A33 Swallowfield Bypass, Basingstoke Road (Three Mile Cross), B3349 Basingstoke Road (Spencers Wood), B3349 Basingstoke Road (Riseley) and B3349 Odiham Road or by this route in reverse.
The reason for this prohibition is to enable Wokingham Borough Council contractors to undertake urgent carriageway works in safety.
Access for residents and business users within the boundary of the restriction will be maintained at all times.
The restriction will come into effect on 7th May 2021. It will only be in effect whilst the necessary traffic signs are lawfully displayed in the said road. It is, however, anticipated that works requiring this restriction will be completed by 8th May 2021. The restriction will only be in force between the hours of 2000 and 0600.
