Road Closed: B3349 Hyde End Road, Shinfield between junctions with Millworth Lane and Appleton Way

Please be advised that Wokingham Borough Council, as the Highway Authority, is issuing a notice under Section 14(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. No vehicles shall proceed along B3349 Hyde End Road between its junctions with Millworth Lane and Appleton Way during the specified period.

Alternative Route:         

The alternative route for all traffic affected by the restriction shall be by proceeding via Hollow Lane, Brookers Hill, Church Lane, Basingstoke Road and B3349 Basingstoke Road or by this route in reverse. 

Reason for Closure:

This prohibition is necessary to enable contractors from Beechwood Tree Care Ltd to carry out Tree Works in safety.

Access:

Access to properties or businesses within the boundary of the restriction will be maintained wherever possible.

Duration and Timings:

The restriction will commence on 2nd January 2026 and continue for a period not exceeding 5 days. It will only be in effect while the required traffic signs are lawfully displayed. The works are expected to be completed by 2nd January 2026. The restriction will be enforced only between the hours of 08.00-15.30

Compliance:

The restriction will apply only during periods when traffic signs complying with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 are lawfully displayed.
