Shinfield Book Festival
Book lovers of all ages came together for a wonderful weekend at the Shinfield Book Festival, with author talks, writing workshops and interactive children’s sessions offering something for everyone. [
Visitors had the chance to meet authors, hear the stories behind their books, ask questions and discover some new favourites. The smaller, relaxed sessions also created a fantastic opportunity for authors and readers to connect directly.
A huge thank you to all the authors, visitors and supporters who helped make the festival such an enjoyable community event. And if you missed it this time, look out for its return in October 2027!
Our First Community Youth Day
Just a few days later, on 28th October, we held our Community Youth Day at School Green and School Green Centre. The free event was created especially for 11 to 18-year-olds, with activities, games and entertainment, as well as the opportunity for young people to meet others and have their say about what they’d like to see in Shinfield.
It was an important step in creating more opportunities for young people in the parish and giving them a stronger voice in their community.
Thank you to everyone who came along, took part and helped make our first Youth Day happen.
