About

I have lived in Spencers Wood since 1976, and joined the Parish Council in October 2008. My main interests lie in Planning and Highways matters, working to the best of my ability to help ultimately deliver long-term sustainable development and infrastructure, considerate of our new and existing residents’ quality of life, whilst much respecting the surrounding environment and its wildlife.

I very much support local traffic management schemes – the provision of 30mph speed limits through our villages, the ever increasing good walking, cycling and bus routes being provided to enhance the well-being, convenience and safety of Parish residents. The provision of SANGS within the Parish is considered a welcome and valued much needed off-set to all the new development.

For many years I have been part of the team of Councillors who have been very active in developing and delivering new amenities for our residents, as well as trying to broaden a diverse scope of recreational/cultural interests this Parish offers to all age groups.  I have been involved in delivery of the new Community Centre and Cafe from day 1.  As a Parish Councillor I sit on various outside bodies representing the Parish Council.

My main background is in negotiation and counselling, although I started off my working life in a Bank, and thereafter in the Claims Dept. of a leading Insurance Co. – the later provided me with a broad and well-rounded business experience.  I have lived extensively in other countries, and had a European education.

I live with my husband, two large dogs and two exotic cats.  My interests lie in;- World Affairs by hoping that we can all lead more equitable lives; reading books, newspapers and magazines extensively, watching films and dramas and simply enjoying nature and the great outdoors.  I enjoy having great diverse conversations and the sharing of new and existing ideas.  I very much believe you never stop learning, and am therefore a curious individual who is a long-term student of life in its broadest sense, who looks to the future with a foot in the past from which one gains experiences.
