Last night, Shinfield Parish Council hosted its Annual Parish Meeting at the School Green Centre, bringing together residents for an evening that was as entertaining as it was informative.
The event opened with a lively half-hour set from stand-up comedian Becky Walsh, whose experience as a local council communications officer added a humorous and relatable twist to her performance.
Chair of the Council, Nigel Boyer, then delivered an engaging presentation reflecting on the parish’s achievements over the past year and outlining exciting plans for 2026/27, including the continued success of the Youth Club, the Council’s takeover and launch of The Tin Roof Café, and a range of community events alongside the new 2026 Grants Scheme.
The evening also celebrated the incredible contributions of local groups and businesses through the Community Awards, with Happy Trails and Shinfield Running Club announced as this year’s well-deserved winners. Overall, it was a fantastic celebration of the parish spirit and the strong sense of community that supports Shinfield’s residents.
