To celebrate everything the School Green Centre has to offer, Shinfield Cinema is delighted to present a FREE screening of ‘Local Hero’ on Friday 7th November 2025 at 5.30pm.
Local Hero (1983) is a much-loved Scottish comedy-drama written and directed by Bill Forsyth. When an American oil company executive is sent to a remote Scottish coastal village to purchase land for a refinery, he gradually falls in love with the people, the landscape and the way of life he has been sent to change.
Chosen for its strong community theme, the film celebrates the importance of local connections and the places we call home, making it a fitting part of our School Green Centre anniversary celebrations.
