Thank you to Freely Fruity & DOE students for their recent efforts helping the orchard stay healthy. (26.04.26).
Freely Fruity wrote: ‘We spent the afternoon (26.04.26) caring for the Shinfield Parish Council orchard just off Deardon Way. We taught our Duke of Edinburgh students how to best look after fruit trees. We removed any dead or diseased wood from the trees and removed any crossing branches.
Sadly, one of the original trees planted had perished and we needed to remove it for safety reasons. Nothing is wasted though, the branches will be used as a dead hedge as part of our show garden at the Royal Windsor Flower Show‘.
Shinfield Parish Council would like to say thank you to all involved, we really do appreciate the time and effort keeping the orchard healthy.
