Our Facilities Team has been working incredibly hard over recent weeks to clear and prepare handed back or abandoned allotment plots. Many of the plots had unfortunately been left in very poor condition, with our team often needing to make three or more trips to the tip for a single plot to get it back to a usable condition. This is not only due to plots being abandoned, but also because household waste and tyres have been dumped on vacant plots. We kindly ask all allotment holders to dispose of waste responsibly so our team can focus on improving and maintaining the site for everyone.
We are very pleased to share that 13 newly cleared plots have now been successfully let to new allotment holders.
This is a very positive step, making good use of these valuable spaces, and we look forward to seeing what the new allotment holders grow.
