Cllr Andrew Grimes joined Shinfield Parish Council in 2012 as a Parish Councillor and in 2018/19 he was elected as Chair for Shinfield Parish Council.
Andrew played an integral part in many parish wide projects over the years and personally project managed the School Green Centre build. The building has been integral in bringing the community together and become a central hub for all to enjoy.
Andrew attended almost every event even though he also had a full time job, he was always at Committee Meetings, sometimes over Zoom, but always fulfilled his duties as Chair.
Before the Annual Council Meeting in May, a farewell gathering was held for Andrew. He was presented with a photobook of his time at the Parish Council, a Shinfield Seedling tree with a plaque, an artist’s impression of the School Green Centre and personalised cards designed by a talented member of staff.
