For Clarification: Planning Application 242598 – Millworth Lane Recreation Ground

Planning Application 242598 is only for the fitness zone and will not affect football. Shinfield cricket club now use the Manor Ground and not Millworth Lane. Shinfield Rangers are not losing any football pitches and are on board to take over the state of the art pitches and facilities at High Copse when they are handed over from the University of Reading. The land at Millworth Lane was initially leased to Shinfield Association from the University of Reading. The University of Reading issued a new lease to Shinfield Parish Council in June 2021. Shinfield Parish Council have allowed Shinfield Rangers to use Millworth Lane for football free of charge, but they pay for the maintenance of the pitches.
