NOTIFICATION RECEIVED FROM UNIVERSITY OF READING:
The University is due to start some work as part of a £1 million investment to improve access and the green space.
Work is due to start in mid-July 2025 to improve existing pathways alongside creating new tracks, drainage, gates and verges. Once complete, there will be a new publicly accessible track that connects to the Eastern Relief Road.
Phase 1 of this project is expected to be completed by the end of September. To ensure the safety of local residents, a pathway will be closed for the duration of Phase 1 on weekdays, 8.00-18.00.

The pathway will be reopened after 18.00 on weekdays and on weekends for residents to enjoy walking and cycling.
Phase 2 of this project will start in late 2025 to restore existing habitat and introduce protective measures for the existing wildlife.
This project is being completed on behalf of Shinfield Studios to deliver the biodiversity net gain in connection with the construction of the studios.
We are not anticipating significant disruption but know the pathway is well used so wanted to provide everyone with advanced notice. We will also be putting up signage along the pathway next week so walkers and cyclists are aware before they reach the closed section and can understand what work is taking place.
