Runners of all ages and abilities took to the streets once again as the Shinfield 10K returned for 2026, bringing together athletes, volunteers and spectators for a successful day of sport and community celebration.
The popular annual event saw participants enjoy a well‑organised route through Shinfield and the surrounding area, cheered on by local residents and supported by a dedicated team of volunteers. From experienced club runners aiming for personal bests to first‑time entrants taking on the challenge, the atmosphere throughout the event was welcoming and encouraging.
Organised by Reading Roadrunners with the support of local partners, volunteers and sponsors, the Shinfield 10K continues to be a highlight in the parish calendar. Marshals, organisers and helpers gave their time to ensure the event ran smoothly, with safety and enjoyment at the heart of the day.
As well as promoting health, wellbeing and physical activity, the Shinfield 10K plays an important role in bringing the community together. Local organisations, families and spectators lined the route to show their support, creating a lively and positive atmosphere from start to finish.
